Charlie Murphy Keeps It Real, Funny

Maybe he’ll tell us a True Hollywood Story.

We’ve used every possible synonym for laugh to tell you about the good times you’ll have at the Miami Improv, and we have yet to disappoint you. So this time when we say you’ll fall down laughing as Charlie Murphy tells his first joke and that he’ll be tickling your funny bone all night, you gotta believe us. You probably know the Brooklyn native from his stint as a cast member on Chappelle’s Show, and you definitely attribute your knowledge that “cocaine is a hell of a drug” to Murphy. But from today through Sunday, the comedian/screenwriter/actor is going to be wearing his stand-up hat.

Relaxing at his home in New Jersey, he told us: “I enjoy the whole celebration of stand-up comedy -- you know, to be onstage and have a set that is effective, not just effective in New York or not just effective with people that watch Charlie Murphy movies -- effective with everybody.” Showtimes tonight are 8:30 and 10:45. Tickets cost $32.10, and don’t forget the two-drink minimum.
