Forget the cafeteria table snobbery; the social hierarchy in elementary school was really determined within the confines of gym class. Think about it -- only the strong survived the pullups test, your cool factor was determined when (or if) you were picked for a team, and dont even get us started on the biased refs during dodge ball. And just when you thought you had mastered the caste system of office politics, the World Adult Kickball Association comes along with its a co-ed league that throws you back to the days of Trapper Keepers and Lisa Frank stickers.
But dont worry -- it feels good the second time around. For the past 10 years, WAKA has corralled adults all over the nation into more than 2,000 teams battling it out in one of the worlds greatest sports. The winter kickball season kicks off today at Bicentennial Park, and for only 78 bucks, you can show em how fast you can round those bases. Last year two teams from Fort Lauderdale made it to the finals; this might be your chance to redeem yourself from that unforgettable fourth-grade humiliation.
