The holidays are just about ovah, and you’ve had it up to here with family time (no offense, moms and dads). But seriously, if you hear one more Christmas carol or light one more Hanukkah candle, you might have to let this mofo burn to the ground. We hear you. You need release after all the shopping and schlepping and singing and shite. Allow us to make some friendly suggestions. So kick back and consider the frame of mind you want to be in -- and whether or not you’re in the mood to make out with a stranger -- when the clock strikes midnight. It’s New Year’s Eve! Time to let loose, baby!

Want to usher in 2008 in good spirits? If you’ve been starved for politically inspired humor thanks to the ongoing writers strike, you’ll definitely LOL at Lewis Black at the Fillmore. All of the sputtering anger he hasn't been able to release recently on The Daily Show will explode tonight at 9. Tickets range from $58 to $87. Visit www.livenation.com. For some folks, the recipe for a perfect NYE goes something like this: Drink, drank, drunk. If you’re looking to get trizzashed without distractions like bells, whistles, and fireworks, head to Bed (929 Washington Ave., Miami Beach). Yeah, there’s food -- a four-course prix fixe dinner for $150 a person. But for the same price you can party it up with an open bar from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m., including champers at midnight. Call 305-532-9070, or e-mail info@bedmiami.com. You’ll need some food to soak up all that loco-making alcohol, so reserve a table at your favorite restaurant. At Uva 69 (6900 Biscayne Blvd., Miami), the five-course fare comes with a bottle of bubbly for $90 per person. Call 305-754-9022 for reservations. At Sushisamba (600 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach), there’s a white party inspired by a traditional Brazilian celebration, or something. All we care about are the Sambatinis. And that plum bread pudding sounds good too. Call 305-673-5337. Or skip all the frills and enjoy muy bien Mexican eats and live music at Rosa Mexicano (900 S. Miami Ave., Miami). Call 786-425-1001. Celebrating on the cheap? Bayfront Park (301 N. Biscayne Blvd., Miami) has your free bash, featuring live music by Conjunto Progreso, Iko Iko, and Betty Padgett and the Elements of Funk. And, yes, there will be fireworks at midnight. Call 305-358-7550.
