Somebody call VH1. There must be a reality show concept in this: Americas beloved TV stars from the Sixties and Seventies are taking to the stage this holiday season in traditional British panto plays. Henry Winkler (the Fonz) and Paul Michael Glaser (Starsky) went all the way to England to play Captain Hook in two different Peter Pan productions. But we havent lost all of our aging stars: The Gold Coast Theatre Co. has lured Americas first teen heartthrob, Davy Jones, to Monkee around onstage in Aladdin today at 3 and 7:30 p.m. at the Colony Theater.
The British panto is an over-the-top holiday fairy tale with slapstick, visual gags, and audience participation. Bring the kids, or your inner kid, and yell Look out behind you! when the bad guy sneaks up behind the hero. Tickets range from $15 to $50 and are available by clicking www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 305-574-1040. For more information about the show, visit www.britishpanto.org or call 305-538-5500.
