Making a Glorious Noise

Christmas music with spirituality and soul.

If you thought that the palm trees were alive with the sound of music during the festival-heavy summer, let your ears in on a secret that Christmas carolers worldwide have known for years. The holidays are for singin’! And tonight you have two different ways to get your fix. The Joseph Caleb Auditorium will be jumpin’ with the holiday gospel musical Soulful Noel, a story overflowing with drama, dance, and music. You’ll be on your feet and shaking to the beat of the steel drums, trying to keep up with the salsa dancers, and swaying to the gut-wrenching gospel in this feel-good show. Tickets are just $15. Call 305-636-2350, or visit www.ticketmaster.com.

Down the street at the Carnival Center’s James L. Knight Concert Hall (1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami), one of the most popular holiday traditions will take center stage. Nouveau-classical group Seraphic Fire will put its spin on Handel’s Messiah, an earth-shaking classic that will have you singing “Hallelujah” until the sun comes up. Tickets are $15 to $50. Call 305-949-6722, or visit www.carnivalcenter.org.
