Art Basel might be over, but that doesn’t mean the creative minds of native Miamians have all gone to bed. 3 Second Rule and Absinthe Minded Productions are presenting one fantastic night of film, art, and music. The Vacant Lot Showcase begins at Tower Theater (1508 SW Eighth St., Miami) with six unique back-to-back films, and continues at Circa28 for live art and a performance by modern alt-rockers Like the TV Show. Don’t forget to ask for your complimentary drink! For more info, visit www.3secondrule.net.

There’s an alternative event that’ll be sure to please Miami grrls tonight. Femme Fest will be taking over Tobacco Road (626 S. Miami Ave., Miami) from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m., transforming the venue from rugged downtown bar to a strong feminine platform for some truly talented women. At the first festival put together by longtime source for all local music QueenOfTheScene, you can check out the trippy beats from Diagonal, the enchanting vocals of Jill Hartman, and the percussion-infused She Said, among other acts. The festival will also include arts and crafts, live tattooing, fire-spinning, and a midnight drum circle. Check www.myspace.com/femmefest for more info. Both events are $10 each, so choose wisely.
