Anyone over the age of 25 should remember when Sesame Street was the children’s show to watch. Long before Telly Monster started bitching about every little thing, before everyone realized Mr. Snuffleupagus wasn’t just Big Bird’s imaginary friend, before that awful Elmo destroyed the edginess of the Children’s Television Workshop staple (excuse us for still being bitter), there was one Muppet that amped up the cuteness factor without being cloying. That Muppet was Grover. And oh, how we loved him.

Aside from his being fuzzy, blue, and cute, there was just something about Grover that made him the show’s breakout star. Back in the early Eighties, he did it all: From disco-dancing in a Saturday Night Fever frenzy to wreaking havoc as the worst waiter in creation, he was adorable comedic gold. But our favorite moments came when he donned a shiny red cape and silver helmet to become Super Grover. A hero with major foibles, he tried to save the day, but most often needed saving himself. And tonight at the BankUnited Center, he needs your help! Sesame Street Live’s Super Grover! Ready for Action finds our hero joined by newer (and in our opinion, lesser) Muppets like Zoe, Rosita, and --yeah, yeah -- Telly and Elmo. Tickets range from $12 to $15. Tonight’s show begins at 7, but it’s in Spanish, so if you no habla español, you might want to wait until Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. or 7 p.m. to take your little ones. Visit www.sesamestreetlive.com.
