Are you a fan of overpriced art? Look-at-me-aren’t-I-interesting hipsters? No? Well how’s about free cocktails and ho-hum gift bags? Excellent -- you’re totally psyched for this year’s Art Basel. Of course, the really chi-chi parties (where you get the good gift bags) are by invitation only, and the most ballyhooed events’ admission prices will make you LOL. But smart partygoers know where to look for a roundup of the affordable, cool happenings to attend. We got your back for the Art Basel parties, yo.

The whole Wynwood/Design District area will be poppin’, and you’re guaranteed to score free wine and/or beer aplenty at almost any gallery in and around the downtown core. But you’d be seriously remiss if you bypassed the Gen Art Vanguard Exhibition party, held near the Bass Museum at Palm Court (309 23rd St., Miami Beach). The Urban Contemporary and Pop Surrealism exhibition is curated by local lowbrow hero Francesco LoCastro and is titled “No One Belongs Here More than You.” Exactly! Tonight from 8 to midnight there’ll be interactive art installations and, more important, an open bar. Admission is $15 for advance tickets, or $20 cash at the door. If you really want to kick off your fancy shoes and get down and dirty with the local art-lovin’ cool kids, head to Pink Candy Disko at Studio A (60 NE 11th St., Miami). This Art Basel concert bash is presented by Sweat Records and FLM, and you can expect live performances by Ariel Pink, Glass Candy, Dino Felipe, and Awesome New Republic. Keep your eyes peeled for crazy custom video projections by Federico Nessi. Tickets cost $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
