So you say you wanna be a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment business? You want the outrageous houses and cars you see on MTV’s Cribs, you want to rock diamonds bigger than your earlobe, and most of all you want your innermost thoughts laid on wax, film reels, and TV screens for posterity. Well, we want you to slow down and realize that unless you want to be a one-hit wonder -- hi, Mims -- there are some really important things you need to know before putting a down payment on that Aston Martin. And though you could learn it by reading the educational tomes of Jermaine Dupri and Russell Simmons, there’s nothing like getting a firsthand education at this weekend’s third annual Florida Entertainment Summit.

Through Saturday, December 1, you’ll be privy to workshops, meet-and-greets, and seminars conducted by some of the industry’s top professionals and influencers. Today aspiring Steven Spielbergs should attend the Independent Film/TV Pitching Session, future Oprah Winfreys should be front row at the Working with the Agency Workshop, and everyone should go to the afterparty at SoBe Live. All of today’s events will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Visit www.floridaentertainmentsummit.com for a full itinerary and list of events.
