He’s been the chief flag waver at parties all over the world, making crowds jump and wave from Trinidad to Canada to Notting Hill and back for 25 years. Mind you, Machel Montano’s career began when he was only 11 years old. Tonight the main celebrator will host a fiesta in honor of himself: the Machel Montano HD birthday celebration. You’re invited to what’s sure to be an unforgettable last lap of Carnival madness. And yes, apparently it’s in high definition.

Machel is no stranger to Miami. He’s been rocking crowds at our annual Carnival practically since the event’s inception, and he’s made some equally vibrant local friends along the way -- namely firebrand 96.1 MIXX-FM personality Giselle D’ Wassi One, and DJs Walshy Fire and Steelie Bashment. At tonight’s party there will be four bars and two VIP areas, plus you just know the birthday boy will get up onstage and remind us why he’s the soca king of the world.
