Yay, Santa!

Get your shopping done early

Your kids are like, “Hooray, Christmas is almost here!” Your bank account is like, “Oh no, Christmas is almost here!” It’s hard to believe the holidays are so rapidly upon us, especially in a delicious climate like ours where the term sweater weather is worth a giggle. The first, biggest indicator of the holiday season is about to cut a broad path through South Miami-Dade today. So arrive early and find a good parking spot for the Miracle on 136th Street Holiday Parade, an event that will turn The Falls shopping mall into an insane clusterfuck of people, floats, marching bands, and costumed characters this afternoon at 4:00.

Of course the central figure of this holiday parade – of any holiday parade – is Santa Claus, in his first appearance of the season. After the procession, Santa will head to the ironically named “Peaceful Kingdom,” which we guarantee will be a crowded madhouse with live deer and flamingoes roaming through the shopping center, and families clamoring for photo ops with the big man in the sweaty red suit. All event proceeds will benefit Hands On Miami.
