Show Love for Miami Music

The 305 stands up to be counted at Unbreak

Word on the street is Miami musicians are -- in addition to being talented, innovative, and dedicated to their craft -- haters. In fact, if you listen to the stories told over vodka tonics in noisy clubs and doppio espressos in dark coffeehouses, you might imagine that the industry is full of microphone-wielding crabs in a barrel. But local group Outereach is looking to kill that ugly stereotype by uniting the city’s top artists at Unbreak Miami, a supercool event held the first Saturday of each month.

“We were tired of people talking shit about the Miami music scene and lack thereof, so we decided that the best way to counteract that was to start something of our own,” says the group’s bassist and the event’s organizer, Eddy Davis. Tonight beginning at 10:00, you can expect to experience a mishmash of visual art, short-film screenings, and live music at one of downtown’s meccas of great music, PS 14.
