Say “I Do” to The Divorce

You don’t need a prenup to enjoy this play

The wedding story is often told like a fairy tale, with images of snow-white dresses and rose petals strewn at the happy couple’s feet. The marriage that ensues is a bit less idyllic, and many unions actually end with a process server showing up at one half of the happy couple’s door. But don’t let us persuade you that the glass is half-empty; the star-studded cast of The Divorce will give you a story that lets you make up your own mind about that. Actors you recognize -- including Vanessa Bell Calloway, Dawnn Lewis, Tatyana Ali, Ananda Lewis, and Dorien Wilson -- present a tale that some of us know all too well.

“The amount of talent we have in this cast, it’s worth the price alone to see these seasoned, veteran actors. It’s an evening of entertainment; it’s a dramedy. It’ll make you laugh; it’ll make you cry,” Wilson says during a phone interview from their rehearsal space in Hollywood. See for yourself at the James L. Knight Center today through Sunday, September 30. Tickets start at $37.50 and are available at the box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.
