Go to Amendment XXI if you’re down with feeling dirty

What makes a party good -- like, really good? Is it half-naked girls and bottles of Cristal? Or a dark warehouse and minimal beats? Really it all depends on who you ask. According to DJ Push Button Objects, a party worth returning to is all about friendly vibes and the occasional forgotten jewel that makes you shout, “Oh snap!” Soul Funktion at Amendment XXI will have plenty of those finger-pointing-in-the-air moments.

Every Saturday at 11:00 p.m., resident DJs Push Button Objects and James Dolby spin open-format sets filled with funk, soul, electro, and even some Johnny Cash numbers. “It’s all fair game,” says Push (a.k.a. Edgar Farinas). “I try to make music that’s across the board.... I just want everyone to have a good time.” Tonight’s guest DJ, Matt Cash, will spin dirty disco. What exactly is that? “Whatever makes you feel dirty,” jokes Push. Admission is free. For more info, call 305-571-7200 or visit www.myspace.com/pushbuttonobjects.
