Enter the aqua-color environment of chic café Out of the Blue, and you’re instantly transported from the grit and sweat of this stretch of downtown Miami. On any given afternoon, music burbles from the speakers; diners chat animatedly over mouthwatering sandwiches, soups, and pastries; and an ever-rotating display of beautiful art bedecks the walls. Hungry art-lovers can come by this evening for delectable dishes and fresh art as the Miami International University of Art and Design hosts its annual BFA exhibition.

In this year’s exhibit, “Re-Figuring,” the graduating artists have found novel ways to use the human figure. “They have sought to articulate a visual language,” explains professor Carlos de Villasante. Check out the latest from some up-and-coming creative types, and nosh on delicious fare from 7:00 to 9:00. Call 305-573-3800, or visit www.outofthebluecafe.net.
