What’s a better way to impress your date than pretending you have some culture? Take him/her to culture that is free! Then you can spend the extra money on drinks and dinner and such. Today you can save some bucks if you go for a stroll through the gorgeous, glamorous gardens of Vizcaya for its “Free Sunday” event. This month’s theme is tropical life, and many little events are planned, from horticulture talks and art projects to general good times, all beginning at 10:00 a.m.

At 4:00 p.m., Dr. Robert Remek will jam out on Vizcaya’s historic pipe organ, which should be a special treat. There will even be a lecture about the plants in Vizcaya’s hardwood hammock and how you can bring some of that loveliness to your own yard. FYI: A hardwood hammock is a miniforest of trees; it isn’t something you lounge in.
