Miami, Inked

Despite what your grammy says, sin is in. Those who agree will be at Gallery 138 (2633 NW 20th St., Miami) tonight at 8:00 for the art exhibit “The Devil Made Me Do It.” José Carrera and John Vale of OchoPlacas Tattoo, along with more than 20 other artists, will showcase their works, which were inspired by the immoral impulses of the alter ego. A glimpse at Carrera’s and Vale’s online portfolios (everything from cute marshmallow Peeps to a zombie nun with nails in her head) gives you an idea of the quality of work you can expect. Admission is free. Call 305-264-0888, or visit www.ochoplacas.com/gallery138.

If you’re looking for a more interactive experience, head to the opening reception of Kolo Tattoo & Ear Expander (348 NE 167th St., Miami), also at 8:00. Tattoo artist Kolo Narvaez and his team of lobe lengtheners will be using his patent-pending Embedded Ear Expander to modify the body parts of masochistic patrons. Come for the stretching; stay for the snacks, drinks, and music. Call 786-344-5091, or visit www.earexpander.com.
