Posh Cocktails

The Biltmore undergoes a curious transformation during the hot summer stretch – converting from patrician hotel better known for presidential visits (and the infamous Al Capone suite) to chill-out spot for locals thirsting for affordable drinks and live lounge-lizard action. There’s something cool to do there almost every night of the week, and weekends are probably the chillest of all. Roll up to the impressive Jazz Age structure, and park yourself poolside for Soca Sundays. This relaxing affair will transport you to the beautiful Caribbean through music and cocktails.

Jean P. Jam, a steel-pan soca band, provides the ideal island-groovy soundtrack via Trinidadian calypso classics and spirited cover songs. The bartenders will make your slide into the work week seem effortless with half-price mojitos made with 10 Cane Rum. Admission is free, and the fun takes place every Sunday this summer from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Sundays, 2-6 p.m., 2007
