So far your adventures in cooking have been unpredictable at best. From the first batch of blackened sugar cookies when you were seven to that popsicle-like turkey you served last Thanksgiving, your kitchen has become a sort of Twilight Zone -- you never know what’ll come out of it. For the sake of your future house guests, go to Miami International Mall today at 11:30 a.m. for Simon Super Chefs Live!, a free food extravaganza featuring cooking demos, chef cook-offs, and more.

“Events like this are a good way to get people to share in the energy of the kitchen, and chefs like it because it gets them out in the public eye,” says participating chef Jesse Souza of Doral hot spot Chispa. “Plus it has a competitive aspect that people seem to be into these days.” So will there be any spatula smackdowns or wheatgrass ass-whoopings? Souza says the competition will be all in fun, but he might change his mind once he tastes your lasagna.
