There are people who love fashion, and then there are those who are absolutely obsessed -- stalking sales like a jealous lover, consumed by fabrics and stitching, shopping on the offensive with elbows out and ready to swing. To a true shopper, stumbling upon a sample sale is like finding a $100 bill wedged in the lining of your purse. And for those who haven’t had the pleasure, meet Shop Miami 2007.

This one-day event “is taking style to a different level,” says Julia Brown, regional director of Gen Art. “You have all of the top designers [from South Florida] under one roof for a four-hour period, and you can really get some unique, one-of-a-kind pieces from them at incredible prices.” Sure the fashions will be fabulous (and so will the open bar), but your pockets can get some joy, too, when you buy straight from the designers. Bye-bye, middle-mall. A VIP private presale begins at 6:00 p.m.; 7:00 p.m. for general admission.
