Summer really is the best time to live in South Florida. Sure it's so hot outside it's like walking on the surface of the sun, until the occasional hurricane comes along and blows us all to bits. And since those fickle tourists pack up and leave -- they really have no sense of adventure -- the hotels are begging for business. But for those of us nutty enough to stick it out year-round, we get to partake in slashed prices and fabulous promotions. Tonight head over to the Biltmore Hotel for the kickoff of LIVE! at the Biltmore, a weekly Thursday-night party at the hotel’s poolside Cascade Bar & Grill.

LIVE! features local bands playing music for crowds of beautiful local people, who congregate to dance, drink, and partake in general rabble-rousing. As a bonus, Sauza Tequila cocktails are half-price. Suck down enough cheap margaritas in the hot summer nights, and you'll be wasted in no time. But don't get too sloppy; after all, this is the Biltmore. Tonight Spanish rock band Hoja Seca will play from 7:00 to 8:00; the party goes until 10:00.
