The United States is often called the land of milk and honey, and if that’s the case, Miami must be the town of soy milk and Splenda. The fact that we’re a city of fitness freaks, hard-bodies, and health nuts is well established, but what does the flip side of the coin say? What about the legions of locals who can appreciate the subtle flavors of trans fats and high-fructose corn syrup? Mo’nique, one of comedy’s most outspoken females, is coming to town, and if her philosophies were foods, they would be swimming in butter and wallowing in gravy. Sounds delicious!

Judging from her book titles -- the best-selling Skinny Women Are Evil and Skinny Cooks Can’t Be Trusted -- she’s not afraid to say what she means. Mo’nique will be preaching to the choir at the Miami Improv for a special two-night engagement that kicks off tonight at 8:30. Tickets cost $42.80, and don’t forget the two-drink minimum.
