An afternoon spent at a Florida Marlins game is already a pretty awesome afternoon, but one day of the weekend is about to become even better. Behold Super Saturdays, a hybrid of music, baseball, giveaways, and fireworks designed to bring the fans out for a day worth remembering. To kick off the event in suitably patriotic style, the Marlins and event sponsors Edy’s Ice Cream are proud to present a postgame concert featuring five of our American Idol favorites. The show will feature Anthony Federov, Jessica Sierra, Ace Young, Mandisa, and our personal favorite, Miami girl Nadia Turner. It turns out that Ms. Turner has been quite busy in her post-Idol life.

“Let’s see. I did a movie (Lord Help Us, which co-stars Mad TV’s Debra Wilson) that will be released on May 8. I recently co-hosted The View with Barbara Walters and Rosie O’Donnell.… The Royal Family of Kuwait invited me to perform for them for New Year’s, so I flew over there and that was exciting. I’m starting my own clothing line. I’ve been busy! I’m a hustler,” she laughs. More than anything else, Nadia’s been fine-tuning her long-overdue album, which promises to stay true to her funky rocker-chick roots. She will sing the National Anthem when the Marlins take on the Phillies tonight. Learn more about the fantastic Ms. Turner at www.nadiaturner.com.
