Spa Week sounds like Christmas, Valentines Day, and an early birthday for women who love to be spoiled. Some of South Floridas finest establishments will be offering their typically pricey services for a reduced rate from April 16 to 22. A mere $50 will get you an Ocean Breeze facial at the chi-chi Doubletree Ocean Point Resort and Spa (17375 Collins Ave., Sunny Isles; 786-528-2900, www.oceanpointresort.com), or a Tiki Tip to Toe mani and pedi special in the lush outdoor setting of two of South Beachs fanciest, schmanciest spas. But you might be surprised by the clientele.
Were expecting more men this time. The spa world is no longer predominantly female, says Terry Prager, the spa director for both the Agua Spa at the Delano and the Spa at the Shore Club. That might be because of the tempting prospect of lounging by the pool and watching the scenery go by. At the Delano, well give treatments in a poolside cabana, and at the Shore Club, it will be at what we call the sand bar. Its going to be very South Beachy. People love to be outside to get treatments, says Prager. Besides the tiki treatment, visitors to the Delano or the Shore Club can enjoy a 45-minute Spring Clean Facial, or a mini-massage and body polish. For that price why not splurge and get all three? As one might expect, appointments are going at the speed of sound. So we say make the phone call and treat yourself to la dolce vita while you still can! The affordable pampering begins April 16 at the Agua Spa at the Delano, (1685 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-64-6100), and the Spa at the Shore Club (1901 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-695-3292).
