It’s Bigger than Hip-Hop

Stones Throw Records is home to some of the world’s most renowned and respected DJs and producers. The label’s roster is like a who’s who of beatmasters who have forever changed the hip-hop game. The late, great J Dilla remains the most immediately recognizable name to rap newbies, but trust us when we say that the label’s other stars shine equally as bright. Fans and novices will get their chance to experience the best of Stones Throw at Hella International, a free party that will unite Miami’s hippest at the poolside beach area at the Raleigh Hotel. True hip-hop fans will be talking about this event for the rest of the year.

The difference between a true DJ and an on-air personality will become immediately apparent when Madlib mans the ones and twos. The mysterious Bay Area phenom shuns the limelight, and prefers to let his beatmatching skills speak for him. Label head and DJ extraordinare Peanut Butter Wolf will be on hand to show everyone how it’s done; funk fanatic Egon promises to share unique and rare samples with the head-bobbing masses; and the list goes on and on. J.Rocc, A-Trak, Busy P and DJ Mehdi (actually of the Parisian label Ed Banger Records), Benji B, and Karriem Riggins will also all lay their gifted hands on the turntables. And um, did we mention that this unbelievable event is free? Ridiculous!
