A good dog fetches bones and rolls over, but a great dog brings you antacid and holds your hair while you’re puking up last night’s bottle of Irish whiskey. You should repay Lassie this morning by taking her out to the fifth annual Pet Rescue’s Lucky Charm Pet Parade at Ernest R. Graham Park. She can enter contests and raffles, listen to live music, meet the author of Sparky’s Walk, have her caricature drawn, and proudly march in the parade.

Pet Rescue is a “no-kill” shelter, which means they will never euthanize an animal that comes under their care. Because of their huge operating expenses, they host this annual event to raise money and awareness. If you can’t make it to the parade, feel free to donate anyway! Check-in time is 10:00 a.m.; the parade starts an hour later.
