The songs of Miami’s spirituality

Tonight the streets will be alive with two very unique sounds of music. Jubilate Vocal Ensemble (pronounced yoo-bee-lah-tey) kicks off its 15th anniversary season at the Miami Beach Community Church (1620 Drexel Ave., Miami Beach) with The Nu Spirituals. Starting at 7:00, this diverse group of singers will pair itsjazzy vocals with spiritually dynamic contemporary music by artists like Bobby McFerrin and Sweet Honey in the Rock. Admission is free. On the other side of town, the Ahavat Olam congregation’s rabbi and cantor, Danny Marmorstein, will take the stage for a night of music with some of his special (and musically inclined) friends. Music is the Whole Megillah is a celebration of music, Judaism, and love. Tickets range from $25 to $90 (for patrons). A delicious kosher dinner at 6:00 p.m. is also available for $20.
