So Much Better Than a Drive-In

By the Bay is the only way

It’s been a few months now that Movies by the Bay has been entertaining local audiences at the Bayfront Park Amphitheater, and finally, Miamians get it. Duh, Movies by the Bay isn’t a one-time event – it takes place every day! And with its stunning outdoor venue, it provides a fantastic respite from the cell phone madness at your local AMC.

“The awareness has built to the point where they’ve heard of us, and more and more people are coming out to enjoy movies with us,” says Sunset Cinemas’ cofounder Susan Hertig. Movie-lovers can bring their own chairs or a picnic blanket, bring their own food and drink, sit away from the audience to snoke a cigarette, or be among the cackling crowd to enjoy the cinematic fun. The venue and concept are ideal for group events or romantic picnics, and the screenings include the latest offerings at the box office. One of tonight’s movies will be Reno 911: Miami, which finds Comedy Central’s bumbling super troopers wreaking havoc across our city, from South Beach to Calle Ocho.
