Dinner and Dancing in a Snap

Microwave dinners and reruns of Friends are convenient, but one can take only so much precooked chicken and Joey Tribbiani one-liners. After all, it is okay to desire some refinement when it comes to dinner and entertainment. Ditch the sodium-packed cardboard food and played-out jokes and head to Macarena tonight for Flamenco Fridays. Colorfully costumed dancers, emotive singers, and diligent guitarists perform while patrons nosh on Spanish delicacies. Flamenco, originating in Andalusia, was once considered a lowbrow art form but has now gained popularity with its signature six-string guitar, poetic songs, and flashy dance moves. Obviously the Spaniards never heard Phoebe sing "Smelly Cat." Once the foot-stomping and handclapping frenzy has ended, the DJ drops a mix of Euro-Latin rhythms. The show begins at 10:00, and there is no cover.
Fridays, 10 p.m., 2006
