Ride It Off

You have been eating turkey for two days straight -- turkey sandwiches, turkey fajitas, turkey pitas. It is time to back away from the bird, slide on your LiveStrong wristband, and strap on your helmet. Castellow Hammock Nature Center is hosting a relaxing bike tour through the Navy Wells Pineland Preserve. The ride is meant for taking in the beautiful sights of this Miami landmark, so all of you speed demons should sit this one out (Lance, this means you!). The tour includes a stop at Robert Is Here fruit stand, so maybe you can grab a cranberry smoothie to wash down that turkey sandwich you packed for lunch. Riders should meet at 9:00 a.m. at the entrance to the preserve, which is one mile south of SW 344th Street on SW 192nd Avenue in South Miami-Dade. Admission is $25 per person, including bike rental; $20 with your own bike. Preregistration is required. Call 305-365-3018.
