More About
In many other cities of Miamis size, citizens can be seen doing strange things on the weekends: They spread blankets on the grass, carry their food in baskets, and congregate at their neighborhood parks for some outdoor fun. Here youre more likely to drive past a practically empty green space en route to the mall on a Sunday afternoon. The City of Miami Beach is trying its hardest to bring residents and visitors out to mingle under blue skies now that the weather has cooled down to a comfortable level. Weve launched a series of free events offering live entertainment concerts, plays, opera as outdoor events in alternating city parks every month, explains Irene Lui, public information specialist for the City of Miami Beach. Todays free concert really speaks to the local youth demographic. Local favorites the Nag Champayons and El Chino & DreadLion will rock the North Shore Park and Youth Center with Latin funk, hip-hop, and reggae. The music begins today at 3:00 p.m. Call 305-673-7730, or visit www.miamibeachfl.gov.
