Ba Cissoko

Awe-inspiring traditional African beats fuse with contemporary reggae-rock sounds when Ba Cissoko and his group decide to jam. Born into a musical family in West Africa's Guinea-Bissau, Ba Cissoko is a master of the regional 21-string harp-lute called the kora. Kourou Kouyaté, Sékou Kouyaté, and Ibrahim Bah round out the quartet. — Rayme Samuels

Ba Cissoko performs Saturday, November 4, at 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. at the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts, 1300 Biscayne Blvd, Miami. Admission is $15 and $20. Call 305-949-6722 or visit www.carnivalcenter.org for more information.
