Dress Like a Clown

Today is the best day for it

Undercover sluts and closeted cross-dressers, rejoice! Your favorite day of the year has finally arrived, bringing with it a plethora of events where you can dress up for maximum eye-popping impact. Yup, it’s Halloween in Miami, and tonight the freaks will fly their flags at full mast. But what about revelers who want to get their treats without the tricks? There’s a veritable witch’s cauldron bubbling over with events to please sedate, self-respecting costumed revelers.

Halloween on the Mile gives parents a razor-blade-in-apple-free zone to celebrate with the little ones. And bring Rover out for a costume contest sponsored by DogBar. The fun begins at 5:00 p.m. at McBride Park (152 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables; 305-569-0311 or www.shopcoralgables.com).

The Family Fall Festival at Dolphin Stadium offers entertainment, education, and the sounds of gospel choirs thanks to the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Carol City. Stop by between 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. for rides, games, and refreshments. Call 305-623-6286, or visit www.dolphinstadium.com.

Do the time warp at ECOMB’s Halloween Fundraiser, and support the Environmental Coalition of Miami Beach. Tonight’s screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show begins at 8:00 at the Colony Theater (1040 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach). Donations are $25 at the door and include admission, audience participation goodies, and giveaways. Call 305-674-1040, or visit www.ecomb.org.
