Oh, man, I had the strangest dream last night, and you were in it. Only you weren’t really you; you were Mickey Mouse. I was Minnie, of course, and we were traveling around the world. And do you know what the weird part was? We were wearing those big shoes but they had blades, like ice skates. I know it sounds crazy, but now our dreams really can come true. While Disney on Ice is in town for the Mickey & Minnie’s Magical Journey tour, we can audition to join the cast during today’s skater tryouts. That’s right, if you think you can perform an array of jumps, spins, and fancy footwork while wearing an elaborate costume (and, quite possibly, a giant freak-head), you will want to attend today’s official casting call beginning at 1:00 at the BankAtlantic Center (1 Panther Pkwy., Sunrise). After a sprinkling of fairy dust and a little encouragement from the likes of Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Ariel, Stitch, and Mickey and Minnie, you’ll have a chance to show off your moves to the Disney production’s soundtrack. You can catch the show at the BankAtlantic Center through September 24 or at the American Airlines Arena (601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami) from September 27 through October 1. Tickets range from $18 to $47. Visit disney.go.com/disneyonice for details.
