Former Awesome New Republic member Michael John Hancock is back in Miami's limelight with his new solo act, John Hancock ANR. Describing his latest tunes as dance, folk, rock and roll, and R&B, Hancock isn't shying away from any genre. "Basically I put it all in a pot and see where I can go with it," he says. "I try and make something fresh and innovative." Lately Hancock has been trying out his new moves at Stop Miami and recording his own tracks in his home studio, as well as occasionally putting on dance shows at Churchill's, like the one coming up this Friday where he'll be playing with other crazy hippie bands like Santos, Modjo Funk and the Owners, and Rudy and the Doctors.
