Paul Van Dyk

When the Berlin Wall came down, Paul Van Dyk wasted no time launching his musical career. Named "America's Favorite DJ" in 2004 by BPM Magazine, Van Dyk grew up in East Germany listening to the Smiths and New Order on the radio before hearing techno at home after Germany's reunification. In the early Nineties, he began remixing, using two basic turntables. The style he conjured was eventually played at Berlin's Tresor club, just as Van Dyk was beginning to create original compositions. Since then, it seems he is in Miami all the time — and he just headlined at Ultra Music Festival. But really, isn't it time to see him again? The DJ also finds time to manage his label, Vandit.
