Everyone in Miami seems to have money -- or at least we try to appear as if we do. Not all of us can really afford designer clothes ... or can we? Today one of Miami’s biggest names in fashion, Rene Ruiz, is having a summer moving sale. In the process of making room for the fall line at his new store, he is, as they say, getting out with the old and in with the new. His designs, perfect for the sophisticated man and woman, include ready-to-wear suits, evening gowns, and bridal attire – elegant, timeless pieces that aren’t trendy and can be worn again and again. Ruiz has dressed the likes of Paris Hilton, Kimora Lee Simmons, and Shaunie O’Neal. And now he is taking up to 90 percent off everything in the store; the sale will last through the summer. The boutique is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The new store will be open by fall at 2700 Ponce De Leon Blvd., Coral Gables. Call 305-445-2352.
