All Bark and No Play

Dogs just want to have fun

Bark, bark, bark, bark, bark, bark, bark! Woof, woof, woof, woof, woof, woof. For those who are not yet proficient in dog-speak, that was the first few lines of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” and your pup wants you to know that you can take him to the game tonight for the Humane Society of Greater Miami’s annual Bark at the Park event. While the Florida Marlins face the Atlanta Braves on the field, poodles, pugs, and Pomeranians can chill in the stands (sections 401 through 404) with other baseball-loving barkers. Once you begin sharing a Dolphin Dog with your dachshund, cracking open peanuts with your cocker spaniel, and taunting the Braves’ batters with your basenji, you won’t even care if the home team is losing. Tickets cost $12; $6 for dogs and children under twelve. The game begins at 7:05 at Dolphin Stadium. Call 305-749-1805, or visit www.humanesocietymiami.org for tickets and a release form.
