The word supermodel is bandied about readily nowadays, but very few can lay claim to the title. One such woman is the seemingly ageless Iman. The stunning Somalian began her career in 1975, and during her fourteen years of modeling, she became a muse to designers such as Yves Saint Laurent and Versace. Her regal beauty has graced magazine covers, music videos, films, and television shows. Iman is a fashion icon, which makes her afternoon appearance at Walgreens so delightfully surprising. Yes, this legendary model is a bargain shopper, and her incredible I-Iman cosmetics line is sold at affordable department stores and pharmacies nationwide. “Regardless of what ethnic or socioeconomic background you are, all women want to look beautiful,” says Iman. Today from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., experts will give makeovers and product samples. From 4:00 to 4:30, Iman will be on hand to sign copies of her latest book, The Beauty of Color, which demonstrates innovative makeup tips on some of her famous friends, including Salma Hayek, Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, and Rosario Dawson. “I wanted it to be a celebration of us. It shows you how to look your best, not somebody else’s best,” she explains. Visit www.imancosmetics.com.
