End of the Road

Apparently that nine lives theory holds true for wild cats too. The Florida Panthers were still fighting for wins (defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-3 on April 9) despite being eliminated from playoff contention. That’s not too bad for a team that suffered a twelve-game losing streak at the beginning of the season. But time is running out, and it’s up to the fans to show up and help rally the team to victory. Just two home games remain — the Felines take on the Washington Capitals tonight and the Atlanta Thrashers on Tuesday, April 18 — and Olli, Roberto, Juraj, Rostislav, and the rest of the gang are hoping the ice won’t melt just yet. The games begin at 7:30 p.m. at the BankAtlantic Center. Tickets range from $20 to $250. Call 954-835-PUCK, or visit www.flpanthers.com.
