Could you fit your entire wardrobe in the bags under your eyes? Are your crow’s feet growing to the size of Big Bird’s footprints? Has your once-youthful visage become overwhelmed by age spots? Then perhaps you need “Saturation: A Face Lift in a Jar,” a tongue-in-cheek multimedia reality check courtesy of artist Lou Anne Colodny and curator Carol Jazzar.

“It’s about society’s fascination with beauty and youth. People are going mad for surgery and Botox and all of these things. It’s also about the power of marketing,” explains Jazzar. At tonight’s opening reception, the Buena Vista Building will look more like a high-end department store, complete with displays of the mysterious ointment, beauticians slathering the product in over-the-top displays of performance art, and a video installation that blurs the lines between reality and fiction. One need look no further than the nearest glossy magazine cover or local society page to spy the tell-tale tautness of plastic surgery junkies or the expressionless features of Botox users. Get the antidote to that excess tonight from 7:00 to 10:00. The exhibit will run through May 6, by appointment.
