Monday: A bookworm's wet dream downtown
Monday: A bookworm's wet dream downtown

WED 16

The shocking twists and graphic gore of a horror flick can jolt you out of your seat, sure. But what gives an audience the sick thrill of anticipation is a well-orchestrated score. The plaintive wail of a violin, the dramatic plucking of a harp, and the discordant shrieks of wind instruments get your heart pounding and your palms sweaty. Case in point, the Munich Symphony Orchestra's performance in Silence of the Lambs. The orchestra won the ASCAP Award for its work in Jonathan Demme's psychological thriller and now is coming to thrill local fans. Enjoy exquisitely rendered symphonic music tonight at 8:00 at the Jackie Gleason Theater, 1700 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Tickets range from $30 to $85. Call 305-808-7446, or visit www.concertfla.org. (PEGY)
