Maybe some of them were blown in on the winds. Certainly their perches have been wrecked and their aeries assaulted. And so the birds are out, orioles and jays and — was that a cardinal? Ibis, egrets, herons. Eagles and hawks and ospreys. Limpkin and terns and anhinga. Woodpeckers, pelicans. Sparrows and moorhens. Gallinule. Red-winged blackbirds. Kingfishers.
