Maybe some of them were blown in on the winds. Certainly their perches have been wrecked and their aeries assaulted. And so the birds are out, orioles and jays and — was that a cardinal? Ibis, egrets, herons. Eagles and hawks and ospreys. Limpkin and terns and anhinga. Woodpeckers, pelicans. Sparrows and moorhens. Gallinule. Red-winged blackbirds. Kingfishers. Mockingbirds, wrens, crows, and who knows what else is flying around in aerial chaos? The folks at Everglades National Park in Homestead might know: 305-247-6211.
