Arturo Sandoval

Arturo Sandoval is one of the most accomplished and versatile musicians in Miami. A Cuban-born trumpet player and former Dizzy Gillespie protégé, Sandoval has performed with artists as diverse as Frank Sinatra, Patti LaBelle, Gloria Estefan, and many others. His solos on Sinatra’s Duets II album still induce goose bumps. As a classical musician, Sandoval appeared alongside symphony orchestras around the world and earned numerous Grammy awards. He even garnered an Emmy in 2001 for his compositions of the score to For Love of Music or Country, an HBO movie based on his life story, starring Andy Garcia. On his latest release, Live at the Blue Note, Sandoval weaves bebop, traditional, and Latin jazz into one seamless mix that is a testament to his live chops. Don’t miss this legendary performer.
