Last year, Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire paired up for a memorable tour into the heart of Seventies soul, both blue-eyed and funk-tinged. Now the Windy City ensemble and the Detroit legend are returning for a belated encore, with their considerable legacies in tow. Expect plenty of singalongs to classic anthems such as Chicago's Saturday in the Park and EWF's That's the Way of the World. The only thing missing will be Peter Cetera, who left Chicago back in the late Nineties. Nevertheless you can see both bands at Sound Advice Amphitheater at 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 12. Tickets range from $25 to $75 and go on sale at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 1.
Techno DJ Nelson "Nova" Diaz has returned to Miami from his year-plus sojourn to Detroit, and he's ready to rip up the city again. His first residency is with fellow hardfloor vet Domingo Castillo at Click Beep Boom, the first all-techno night since the much-maligned Privilege closed its doors several months ago. The duo promises to invite special guests to its weekly party, which debuts Friday, April 1, at new club the Drink.
Postmillennial hippies rejoice: the Dave Matthews Band is coming back to town! Only a year after an acclaimed two-day stand in West Palm Beach, the DMB is headed to South Florida in support of its new album Stand Up, which hits stores May 10. Check out the quintet's 2005 show at Sound Advice Amphitheater at 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17. Tickets range from $40 to $57.50 and go on sale at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2.
