THUR 3/24
Here's an interesting approach to relationships: Befriend the woman who's boinking your husband. That's part of the premise of Ann and Debbie, a play that's in South Florida for its world premiere. Elizabeth Ashley and Lucie Arnaz star in the comedy, which involves the title characters interacting in a posh New York hotel room. Tickets range from $35 to $60, or you can try for discount tickets if seats are available just before showtime. The trash talking begins tonight at 8:00 at the Coconut Grove Playhouse, 3500 Main Hwy., Miami. Call 305-442-4000, or visit www.cgplayhouse.com for a complete schedule. -- Patti Roth

Come hear the music play
SAT 3/26
With the recent success of Chicago, you'd think that John Kander and Fred Ebb (Ebb died in September at the age of 76) would be household names by now. Who? You know, the songwriting duo behind such tunes as "New York, New York" and who penned the Windy City musical. Yeah, exactly. Even the 1972 Oscar-winning version of Cabaret didn't elevate them to the same levels of fame as peers Rodgers and Hammerstein, but that doesn't take away from the enjoyment of their talent in the latest Miami Stage Company production of the classic Weimar Republic tale. Directed in all its naughty glory by Angela Ardolino. Showtime is 8:00 tonight at the Alper JCC Theater, 11155 SW 112th Ave., Miami. Tickets cost $18. TUE 3/29
Mel Brooks's The Producers continues to be a musical juggernaut. The Broadway blockbuster that featured "Hitler with a song in his heart" has won twelve Tony Awards, making it the biggest winner in the history of the Great White Way. The 1968 cinema version made Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder stars, and fans can expect a soon-to-be-released movie starring Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Uma Thurman, and Will Ferrell. In the meantime audiences can see Bob Amral star as ne'er-do-well play producer Max Bialystock to Andy Taylor's apprehensive accountant Leo Bloom. Catch the premiere of this Mel Brooks masterwork tonight at 8:00 at the Jackie Gleason Theater, 1700 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Tickets range from $20 to $65. The show will run until Sunday, April 3. Call 305-673-7300, or visit www.gleasontheater.com. --Patrice Elizabeth Grell Yursik
