If anyone could claim a name that boasted some truth in advertising, it was the Goods, arguably the best band South Florida has ever delivered. Steered by brothers Jim and John Camacho, the Goods left behind a brilliant legacy, including Good Things Are Coming, their 1998 hopeful major-label bow-turned-unheralded swan song (produced by the late and legendary Tom Dowd).
Fortunately the Goods' demise didn't stop Jim. Since the start of the millennium, he has issued two new projects, with a third, a possible double album, currently being recorded. True to his signature style, his new music, which he performs with his backing band Waxburn, remains passionate, vibrant, and embracing; Miami New Times affirmed this in 2003 when it crowned him Best Songwriter. -- Lee Zimmerman
