As hard as we may wish and pray for it to happen, Alicia Keys will probably never serve any of her acolytes a steaming cup of hot chocolate (made with cream, not water). It's something we dream about every time we hear her cell phone conversation in her current chart-topper, "You Don't Know My Name." When she coos "Ooooh," we fall in love with her all over again.

Ever since her Grammy Award-winning 2001 debut Songs in A Minor, Keys has been reviving old-school R&B in the midst of pop music's hip-hop zeitgeist with her steamy vocals and supremely cool style. Her music, labeled "neosoul" by her fans, is reminiscent of musical wonders such as Rose Royce, Stevie Wonder, and Earth, Wind and Fire. Though only in her early twenties, she's clearly swinging for pop superstardom. With time, she may come close to reaching the legendary status of Diana Ross or Aretha Franklin.
