Now that Sex and the City is off the air, actor/dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov is screwed. He has to find something else to do besides playing a moody artist who beds Sarah Jessica Parker's character Carrie Bradshaw and whisks her away to Paris. Well, it seems the 55-year-old Russian has reverted to what he does best: dancing and being a star, the only star. Courtesy of the Concert Association of Florida, he'll come to Miami's Gusman Center for the Performing Arts (174 E. Flagler St.) tonight and tomorrow at 8:00 for a program called Solos with Piano or Not ... An Evening of Music and Dance with Mikhail Baryshnikov and Pianist Pedja Muzijevic. The mastermind behind the Police has reached back to his childhood in Damascus; his Arab-centered record company, Mondo Melodia; and to "Desert Rose," the hit collaboration between ex-protégé Sting and Arab pop star Cheb Mami, to create a production that will appeal to those who gasp at the sight of Beyoncé stealing Shakira's moves. WED 3/3 One man's noise is another man's music. And nobody pushes that expression to the limit like the performers at the annual Subtropics Experimental Music Festival. Now in its 16th year, Subtropics has garnered a reputation for exploring the outer musical limits with a combination of local and national new music artists and composers. Opening night of the 5-week fest features electroacoustic artist and Web blogger Kabir Carter and a rumored surprise performance by violinist Malcolm Goldstein and Gustavo Matamoros on the saw.
