Put away your prayer books and slip on your boogie shoes because he's gonna scoop you up with a chunky bass line, heavenly vocals, and phat-phat glam. In case you didn't know, God is Nile Rodgers, the prolific producer of disco megahits and the man responsible for some of the greatest devotional songs in musical history.

Don't believe it? Let's just count some of the blessings Rodgers has bestowed upon humanity. "Good Times" as in "We-love-the"; "We are Family" as in "I got all my sistas and me"; "Freak Out" as in "Awwwwwww freak out!"

Rogers and his creative partner Bernard Edwards created these golden anthems, which sound better and better with the passing of time. With their band Chic, Rodgers and Edwards built the sound that defined the disco era. Sadly Edwards died of pneumonia in 1996, just hours after a reunion show in Japan. Rodgers went on to produce not only soul and dance music; he graced the world of pop and rock, working with U2, David Bowie, and Mick Jagger.

Rodgers's work continues to make pop music magic. It was his touch that propelled Madonna into the arena of pop icon by producing her "Like a Virgin," as in "touched for the very first time."

The biggest stars in pop have worshipped the man. At the Nile Rodgers' Disco Inferno, you too will get the chance to shout hosanna. Rodgers will be performing with an updated version of Chic. Guest performances by Rose Royce ("Car Wash"), The Trammps ("Disco Inferno"), and Thelma Houston ("Don't Leave Me This Way") will further stoke the disco fire.

If disco music saved your life, this event is not to be missed. Be sure to break out your fiercest hot pants and tube tops and get ready to bump and hustle. After the show there will be a '70s contest to win a two-night stay in Las Vegas.
